HMS Fearless was built by Harland and Wolf in Belfast and launched on 19th December 1963. In 1976 HMS Fearless was downgraded and became part of the Dartmouth training squadron, but in 1979 she was refitted and played a major role in the Falklands campaign of 1982. Decommissioned in 2002 and scrapped in December 2007. HMS Fearless (L10) served from 1965 until 2002. One of two from the Landing Platform Dock (LPD) class she was based in HMNB Portsmouth and saw service around the world over her 37 year life. She was the last steam powered ship in the Royal Navy.
